Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010 - 04.07.2010

The Goodwood Festival of Speed brings together the best cars and drivers from across the globe to celebrate motor sport throughout the years. For 2011 Roger was invited to bring his ex Jackie Ickx/Arturo Merzario Williams FW05 and the iconic 6 wheeled Tyrrell P34. The Tyrrell has been preserved in the Donington Grand Prix Collection for the past 20 years and as such was only used for demonstration. However the Williams in which Roger competes regularly was entered into the timed competition section of the event. Throughout the course of the weekend the cars take to the hill climb and battle for the coverted "Fastest Time of the Day" award.

In the final (filmed live for ITV) Roger went head to head with the likes of Touring Car ace Anthony Reid and twice British Rally Champion Jonny Milner. Reid was the biggest challenger but after a mistake at turn 1 it left the "door open" for Roger to come through and take overall honours with a stunning time of 47.15 seconds (just a few seconds shy of Nick Heidfeld's overall hill record in a contemporary McLaren F1 car!)
