Spa 24 Hours 2010 - 31.07.2010

The Spa 24 hours was a "toe in the water" exercise for Roger to evaluate his potential in modern machinery.

Entered into the GT4 class with the Jota Aston Martin entry Roger was to share the car with "works" Aston driver Sam Hancock, Simon Dolan and Joe Twyman.

Having competed at Spa many times before thankfully the only thing to learn was the car and there were no real problems adjusting to the relatively simple Aston Martin N24.

Qualifying was held in very mixed conditions and one never knew whether it was going to be wet or dry. In the end Hancock set a time quick enough for 2nd fastest in GT4 behind the Nissan of Barff/Buncombe/Buncombe/Ordonez.

The race provided similarly tricky conditions and a number of small problems held the number 79 Aston back. However at the end of the twice round the clock enduro the team pulled clear to win GT4 from the two local Belgian Porsche teams.

The exercise proved successful and further outings in modern machinery are planned.
