Busy Silverstone Classic ahead for Wills - 20.07.2011

This year’s Silverstone Classic is set to be another busy weekend for Roger Wills who is entered into 14 races with 15 cars.

As always there is a huge “chalk and cheese” factor across the weekend and Roger is driving a broad range of racing cars from a period spanning 30 years.

From 1959 Roger will be driving the ex Bruce McLaren Cooper T51 Grand Prix car. Last year Roger won both HGPCA races in the T51 at Spa and will be looking towards doing the same at Silverstone.

From the same year he will enter the Stirling Moss Trophy race with the ex Graham Hill Lotus 15. Sharing with Joe Twyman, the duo will look towards building on their 2nd place in last year’s season finale at Portimao.

Joining the team this weekend are two former Touring Car Champions, Paul Radisich and John Fitzpatrick. Fellow Kiwi Radisich shares with Roger in the Mini and also in the McLaren M1B. Fitzpatrick will drive the Mercury Cyclone and should be a front runner in the two part HSCC V8 race.

The weekend also marks Roger’s debut in the popular Group C series. Driving the newly acquired 1989 Courage C26S, Roger will battle for overall honours in the Saturday evening dusk race.
