Wills looks forward to Silverstone - 08.09.2011

CRS is racing on home ground this weekend for the ‘Autosport 6 Hours of Silverstone’. This is the fifth round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and the fourth round of the Le Mans Series.  With 50 cars on the entry list it looks set to be another classic sportscar race at Silverstone’s famous Grand Prix Circuit.

The No.62 CRS Ferrari has had a last minute substitution as Shaun Lynn has business commitments this weekend.  Jumping into the hot seat is a man who is no stranger to CRS: Tim Mullen.  Tim will join regular drivers Pierre Ehret and Roger Wills who are out for a shot at the podium this weekend.

Having raced extensively in the past at Silverstone Wills has more of a headstart than in previous rounds of the ILMC and hopes that the “Local knowledge” will enable him to capitalize and earn some good points for the championship. “With Sebring, Le Mans & Imola I went in with very little past experience, however here I know the circuit very well and hope that with less of a learning curve I should be able to get on the pace straight away.”

With Mullen joining the team, Wills is enthused by the benefits of sharing with a pro and commented “For the first time this season we will be nearer to the rest of the ProAm field by actually having professional driver in the car with us. Up until now we have been the only all amateur squad out there and although we have run well up the class I think having Tim onboard will allow Pierre and myself to get the best out of the car and hopefully put us in a position to claim our first podium.”

The race will be shown live on Eurosport. Coverage starts at 11:30 on British Eurosport.
